  This waterfall is INCREDIBLE. Definitely worth the detour. You can stay in the car park for a fee (was 210kr when I was there). Some places have electric hookup if you choose to pay for it. The best bit about staying is you can get the waterfall entirely to yourself either at night or in the morning (or both!)Note- if you don't have a dog, you can drive to Hallingsafallet (point #17) through Norway if you wish.

  Yes, I know this is now Finland... but it's SO CLOSE to Lulea. Remember, if you have a dog you need to get a tapeworm treatment done before crossing into Finland (although there isn't a 'proper' border and there are no check points.) It's worth visiting even outside of winter- it's fun and very festive. Don't miss petting the husky puppies or crossing the Arctic Circle. It was also fun to feed the reindeer but CRAZY expensive!If you stay in the car park (free), you can also get in to see Santa an hour before it officially opens- no queue!

  Nordkapp- the most northerly point on mainland Europe (unless you want to walk for several hours!) For this one, you drive to the Nordkapp centre, pay to park and can visit the famous globe and walk around outside. You can also stay overnight (no services). To get into the visitor centre (which includes the gift shop) you have to pay. It's expensive! I shared a ticket with a couple in a van next to me - you can go in and out as many times as you like while the centre is open. Worth splitting the costs if you can. Very quiet at night and great 4G signal.
