Dolphin watching In summer, in the stretch of sea in front of Le Lavandou, it is possible to meet dolphins and sometimes even whales. Le Lavandou is in fact part of the Pelagos Sanctuary, a maritime area covered by an agreement between Italy, Monaco and France. The aim is to protect this unique natural territory in Europe. With its 87,500 km² of maritime space, the Pelagos Sanctuary holds a biological heritage of great value, frequented by many species of cetaceans such as sperm whales, dolphins and whales, as well as 8500 animal species. The summer period is the best time to meet curious dolphins, huge whales or even to see their births.
