Accessed from Lynn Cwmystradllyn Reservoir Carpark built circa 1856-7 and possibly designed by sir James Brunlerd, the mill looks more like a ruined monastery and was connected to The Gordeddau Tramway, which transported slate to the harbour at Porthmadog . It also featured a huge water wheel that was powered by the nearby Afon Henw.
