Built around 1798 the initial limekiln measured 24 ft in height on the pier at Beadnell, with a second and then third added later dur to demand. Three circular kilns c.30ft tall, divided at ground level by tunnel-vaulted passages. Each kiln has three segmental drawing arches decreasing in size inwards. Most southerly kiln has partly collapsed on seaward side and temporary joists have been used to add support to kiln arches.The Craster Arms is a hotel, bar and restaurant located on The Wynding in Beadnell. The rear of the building incorporates the remains of a medieval tower house, which dates back from at least 1587. Tower houses in the area were built as a defence against raiders from Scotland during medieval times. The rest of the building was added in the 18th century, when it was used as a coaching inn. The Craster Arms is Grade II* listed on the National Heritage List for England.

Seabirds nest on the cliffs in the spring and summer, and the grassland hosts ground-nesting birds like skylarks.You can reach Dunstanburgh Castle on foot from the nearby village of Craster. The beautiful 1.3-mile walk along the rugged Northumberland Coast crosses working farmland. Please follow the Countryside Code and the National Farmers' Union advice on walking in areas which include livestock.
