https://trolltungacamping.no/en/Hike = Meet in Trolltunga hotel @ 9pm for hike (pre-book with guide company)Other activities =Buarbreen Glacier 3hr hike from Buarbreen car park 15min drive from Odda (rough road/track at times) - expensive parking though (pay on way out - there are no signs so ensure do pay - there's cameras!). Tough hike (didn't make it to the very top due to snow) but very pretty. Lilletop hike - ok for all ages. Great views of Folgefonna and Sorfjorden. Pipeslines & tunnels at top (didn't have time for this).
Mauranger, Norway
On E13 (RV500): waterfall goes under road. Small parking area. Nothing amazing but worth a stop.
Mo ved Steinsdalen, Norheimsund, Norway
https://www.nasjonaleturistveger.no/no/turistvegene/hardanger/steindalsfossen/Really good - lots of free parking. Lovely place. Free!
Norway
Parking & overnight. catch light rail/tram to center (on same road 100m away). Worked fine. Not cheap (only waste disposal and water taps) Pay at meter for 24hrs. Convenient though. Need app for tram (machine at tram stop has instructions). Bergen is nice. Old town at bottom of town. Lots of new town area and park too. https://en.visitbergen.com/accommodation/mindemyren-motorhome-parking-p8345823
Norway
Cable car: https://www.visitvoss.no/en/voss-gondolWe parked in an area to the right, when enter the town, (with Gondola station on the left). Parking by waterfront. After gondola visit, made lunch at sat at lake ground. Snow at top of mountain - nothing open but quite nice for a walk in the snow! Only one other family up there! Restaurant available. Had a go on the swing overlooking valley! Can walk around the I think.
Granvin, Norway
Nothing amazing - didn't really stop! https://www.nasjonaleturistveger.no/no/turistvegene/hardanger/skjervsfossen/
Eidfjord, Norway
This is just outside of Eidfjord. Town has x2 churches (old one and new one). Beach and view point (200m) too apparently. Wanted to stay in the town - seems a nice place. Booked the Saebo site a few hours in advance thinking it was in the village! However although site needs some work still it is ok. Campsite : https://saebocamping.com/Nice guy owns it (speaks excellent English!). Water’s edge pitch. Did 1.5hr walk in evening from site - very nice (ask owner for details),
Vøringsfoss, Norway
https://www.voringsfossen.no/voringsfossen-waterfall/https://www.fjordtours.com/en/norway/places-to-visit/scenic-views/attractions/voringsfossen-waterfallReally good and free! Hardly anyone around. Gangways created across small gaps. Very clever. Definately worth a visit.
Haugastøl, Norway
https://www.nasjonaleturistveger.no/en/routes/hardangervidda/orteren/Just some seating on Rv7 route from waterfalls. snow all around for miles and miles. Beautiful drive. Road clear though. Like an extreme dartmoor! No view of lake though or mountains behind - all white/ice! Would be better in summer!
Norway
Flam is a cruise stop point but it's a small place. They stop here just for the railway. Nice to look around the shops briefly though. Have to pay for parking. Flam Railway timetable : https://en.flamsbana.no/We didn't do this as I've done it before. Expensive for what it is but it is a safe, enjoyable ride. Have read the following about the area but didn't get opportunity to visit as in opposite direction to next place and was getting late : One of the best things to do in Flam is to get up into the mountains for a view looking down into the fjord, and the best place to do this is Stegastein Viewpoint - wood structure jutting out from the mountain above Aurland, offering extensive views of Aurlandsfjord towards Flam.We stayed at Campsite : https://vang-camping.no/om-plassen/ in 'Viking Valley' (Gudvangen). Good internet & free showers! Small'ish place outside of Flam but helpful owner and good facilities.
Gudvangen, Norway
Decided to visit as at end of the road! It's a living museum. https://en.vikingvalley.no/praktisk-informasjonWas ok - quite small but English tours (30mins). Restaurant/coffee etc (also can have viking experience meal at restaurant).
Dragsvik, Balestrand, Norway
Drove via Vik but pouring! Ferry across to Dragsvik. Campsite 200m once off ferry. Fjord edge. pitch. Good internet - free. Pay for showers! https://veganesetcamping.no/
Norway
15min drive (narrow'ish road) to Balestrand. Nice little place. Visit St Olafs church - walk up hill abit. Just parked at water front past the shops. Sit on harbour side. Can walk along Esviken Trail for stunning view of fjord (didn't do).We did the Raudmelen hike (5hr if go to top!) Park at Belehalli Sports hall https://www.fjordnorway.com/en/see-and-do/raudmelen-hike-balestrandSnowy on top - hard climb but worth it! Don't need to go to top to have best views. Various benches to stop at. We didn't make it all way to the top due to snow. One of most beautiful places I've been.
Norway
Did Route 55 instead of 613. Longer but absolutely stunning. Hugs fjord which is massive). https://fordecamping.com/camping-2/Arrived (after closed) at campsite (booked enroute to it 30mins before!) Glad did, as that email confirmation gave us the pitch no. and code to the sanitary block. Stunning facilities (TV room etc) and great showers but overall expensive site. Forde is a big town (quite industrial but just stopped there enroute to next place). Didn't explore. Used facilities for laundry wash!
Stadlandet, Norway
Drove to area - beautiful beaches (surfers). Ervik is lovely beach.Stayed on friend's drive nearby!
Geirangervegen, Geiranger, Norway
You can hike this from the campsite - but we drove to it.https://www.visitnorway.com/listings/flydalsjuvet/239292/
Norway
Site on water’s edge. Beautiful fjord. Nice little place with a few shops. We arrived late pm - all front spaces already gone. Still nice though. Nice evening walk up metal steps/platforms to waterfall, directly behind the site. Showers extra (by card). Very good though.Oyster catcher birds flying around!
Primær Fylkesveg 63, Sylte, Norway
On route out of Geiranger - windy road. Beautiful view over fjord. Parking layby after one of the bends. Worth stopping at. https://www.nasjonaleturistveger.no/en/routes/geiranger--trollstigen/ornesvingen/
Valldal, Norway
https://www.nasjonaleturistveger.no/en/routes/geiranger--trollstigen/gudbrandsjuvet/Drive route 63 from Geiranger. Windy/hairpins. Ferry crossing at eldsdal. Arrive in Linge. Continue on road to Andalsnes. Definitely worth a stop here : Small waterfalls/gushing rivers - walkway platforms- very good/clever. Cafe there if fancy. All free - parking too.
Åndalsnes, Norway
Continuing on r63.Stop at this famous viewpoint on right. All free. Lots of parking. Cafe/shop. Lots of various platforms to view the gorge and the windy road which will be going down! Amazing place :https://www.visitnorway.com/listings/trollstigen-viewpoint/274693/The famous Eagle Road is then next - lots of hairpins (on ‘nightmare roads’ list. Our sat nav wouldn’t include it - said not for m/homes. But it’s fine (other motorhomes using it too)
Averøy, Norway
Picked it up from Alveroya. Oryou can do whole 38kmAtlantic Road from Bud. Camped overnight in middle of stretch of highway in one of laybys (just past the main, famous bridge (which appears to twist). Other vans there or in other laybys nearby. Pathways available to walk and view main bridge. Turned round here in the morning and decided not to go to Kristiansund but go straight to Trondheim campsite instead. Whole road (and bridges free) so use lots of times if want to keep stopping etc. Apparently Bud is very nice and Kristiansund but ran out of time! Whole area beautiful - lots of islands. Like Scotland again or Canada. Then followed E39 to Trondheim. Nice scenic drive and ferry crossing.
Norway
Drove to Campsite then got bus (no.75) into city (11km). Bus is 10min walk from site. Directions at reception. Campsite: https://www.flakk-camping.no/home-2/Expensive but showers included! Presumably cheaper than charges to enter the city and parking. Cathedral (not free - closes @ 3pm? was shut!). We read up about it when got back to site. Bakklandet area is old part - cobbled streets. Very lovely city. Seems big but actually not too bad. Trick was to find bus stop to get back!
Norway
https://lillehammer-camping.no/Site 15min walk into centre. We did it a few times. Quite nice area of shops. Also large retail park same distance away. Can do loop around to include both. Site on large river at bottom of the town. Town famous for winter olympics. Can do bob sleigh! (Shut though). Also ride up cable car to top of ski jump at olympic park (shut too though). Walkable to. Also living museum and olympic museum - shut! Was Constitution Day (17th May) - lovely day spent in the town joining in the celebrations.
Norway
Left lillehammer @ 8am. Drove to Hjelmeland for night. Scenic (all forests for miles and miles. Good roads - lots of tunnels - alot of roads very straight (mainly E134)Stopped at Helland - oldest stave church in Norway - right on roadside - didn't know about it until we saw it (quite dominant!) so pulled over. Parking area. Didn’t go in (not free). Drive then went up into mountains - snowy but good roads. Road from Rodal to ferry (on scenic route 13 to Stavanger) quite narrow, bumpy, windy and narrow in places! Fortunately didn't meet anything coming other way! Not the best of roads - infact worse we had been on - quite stressful. However very nice though. Waterfalls, rivers, glens, woodland etc. Last 25-30km went up mountain and down other side! Very windy, hilly/steep and narrow parts. At bottom is ferry crossing (Nesvik).Got crossing then straight off to the right to a parking area for m/homes.

Fv529, Jørpeland, Norway
Brilliant 4km hike to top (3-4hrs). Quite hard! Rocky/boulders. Walk/view is free but parking expensive : £22 but worth it. Carpark very full - in summer months it's mad apparently. Also affects the walk (letting people pass etc). At top, take turns to get photos (partner stands further away and waits for you to have your turn on the rock edge)!
Norway
Drive to Stavanger : toll road - go into city using an under water tunnel 14km! Then a 6km one. Old Stavanger is located on left where cruise ships come. White wooden houses & cobbled streets. nice shopping areas and bars etc. Nice park to wander around. Look at Stavanger swords statues.Busy campsite just outside of town (Mosvangen). https://www.stavangercamping.no/eng/#kontaktExpensive site but showers included. Don’t think you can reserve in advance. Bike hire available. Bus every 10mins or it's a +40min walk. Can pay for bus with cash but more expensive : £11 (each way for 2 adults - can't buy returns! Cheaper via App but couldn't be bothered! Expensive town, with tolls, campsite and bus but it is nice.
Norway
Awful rainy day! Took route 44 scenic coastal route heading to Flekkefjord. Landscape amazing - called lunar landscape. Massive rocks. Windy roads (some hairpins) hidden lakes. Would be incredible in sunshjne! Nice drive though. loads of possible stopoffs but didn’t much.
