We are on the 09.20 crossing, although there is no guarantee we won't get bumped up or down as other traffic dictates. Cross to Europe in the morning. Journey to campsite is approx 4hAlong the way, there will be opportunities to stop at supermarkets or rest to break up the journey as needed.

Verdun is a small city in northeast France, on the banks of the Meuse river. It’s known as the site of the WWI Battle of Verdun. Verdun's battlefields are marked by museums and memorials, such as the Douaumont Ossuary, with the remains of more than 100,000 soldiers. Northwest of the city is the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery. In the town, the huge Porte Chaussée gate was once part of the city's medieval walls.

Metz is a city in France’s northeastern Grand Est region, with gardens and leafy promenades along the Moselle and Seille rivers. In the old town, the Gothic Metz Cathedral is famed for its massive amount of stained glass windows, many by noted artists. Nearby, the Musée de la Cour d'Or displays artifacts from Roman to Renaissance times. The Centre Pompidou-Metz, with its undulating roof, exhibits contemporary art.

The Strasbourg Cathedral is without doubt one of the most magnificent landmarks in Europe. Its soaring Gothic spire—once the tallest in the world—dominates the skyline and serves as the true center point of Strasbourg, visible from almost anywhere in the city.The intricate stone carvings, the famous astronomical clock, and the stunning stained-glass windows make it a masterpiece of art and architecture. The square around the cathedral is lively, with plenty of shopping points and eateries.
