booking reference: HW/14651/15751£34.50 to pay by 20th MayIf you are travelling from the West (M6) on the A69 the simplest route is to turn left off the A69 for Greenhead and then right on to the B6318. This is the Military Road running alongside Hadrian’s wall. Continue on the B6318 passing the Milecastle Inn on your right (staying on the Military Road, don’t turn here). After the Milecastle Inn, you will see a sign for our campsite after about 1 mile. Take the right-hand turn and the campsite is a short distance along this road on your left.If you are towing a caravan or have a large motorhome you will need to take this route so don’t follow the sat nav if it suggests a different route

If you are travelling from the East (M1/A1), continue on the A69 beyond Hexham and Haydon Bridge until you reach the sign for Melkridge village (a staggered junction at the foot of a hill). At this junction take the right turn, following the road for around 1.5miles up a hill (the first part of this road is a little steep) You will see the campsite on your right. If you are travelling with a caravan or large motorhome you will need to avoid the hill so read onTowing a caravan or with large motorhome (from the East)When you get to Corbridge take the A68 north towards the village of Chollerford. Now take the B6318 military road towards Greenhead. After some distance you will pass the Twice Brewed Inn and The Sill on your left and follow the road beyond this point for around 1.5miles. Follow the brown tourist sign for Hadrian’s Wall Campsite and turn left. The campsite is a short distance along this road on the left.Arrival/Departure You can arrive at your pitch from 1pm onwards. There will be nobody in reception to check you in prior to this time as all staff will be carrying out other duties to prepare the site for incoming guests. Final arrival time is at 8pm. This is to ensure consideration for, and to avoid disruption to, other campers and our staff. The campsite reception is closed after 8pm and we will be unable to check you in. Please ensure you leave enough time for your journey to include any possible traffic issues. We do reserve the right to refuse admission without refund should you arrive late On the day of your departure, please leave your pitch by 11.30am or by 10am if you are staying in the glamping units

Pleasant NT nature walkWith its deep gorge, created by the River Allen, and the largest area of ancient semi-natural woodland in Northumberland, this 250-hectare (617-acre) site provides the perfect setting for an adventure.Largely created by Susan Davidson, Allen Banks has become a fantastic home for flora, fauna and fungi. It is also well known for its carpet of ramsons, commonly known as wild garlic, which covers the woodland floor in spring and early summer. There are woodland walks aplenty and with over 70 species of birds spotted at Allen Banks as well as a wide range of wildlife such as red squirrels, you are never alone.
